The Department of Defense (DoD) Pilot Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP) was established in 1990 to provide incentives for (major) DoD contractors to assist protege firms in enhancing their capabilities and to increase participation of such firms in Government and Commercial contracts. Verizon is currently participating in the MPP as a Mentor to DynaCom Industries Inc., a Protege. The Verizon team is led by Darryl H. Dennis, Director, Small Business Program. Mr. Dennis served as Counselor to the United States Small Business Administration Administrator and as Associate Deputy Administrator for Entrepreneurial Development during the Clinton Administration, prior to returning to Verizon. Other experienced members of the Verizon team include the Program Manager, William J. Stephens (Retired United States Army Colonel), Nikki Do, Sam Foster, Wally Johnson (George Mason University Entrepreneurial), Loftus Lewis, Candice Mitchell, and Lloyd Saunders. The team brings expertise and skills in Engineering, Finance, Telecommunications, Planning & Deployment, Program Management, Technical Consulting, Quality, Legal, etc. The team's expertise and guidance will aide DynaCom's Executive Team in all capacities from engineering, building successful business plans, IT support, financials, training, technology issues, legal assistance, marketing, sales, ISO 9002 / TL9000 certification, and streamlining of the manufacturing process of the Telecommunications Group within DynaCom Industries, Inc. |
